Almond Crescents Recipe
ALMOND CRESCENTS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Flack Estate in Quinlan, Texas in 1980.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup ground blanched almonds
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2-1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
  • Powdered sugar

Directions
  1. Cream butter and add powdered sugar gradually until thoroughly blended.
  2. Add vanilla, ground almonds and cinnamon then knead in flour by hand until completely mixed.
  3. Chill dough then roll into cylinder and break off pieces about the size of a walnut.
  4. Roll in hands then roll into cylinders and form crescent shaped cookies on greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake cookies at 350 for 15 minutes then while still warm roll in powdered sugar.
