Ingredients
  • 1 large bunch fresh broccoli (about 3 stalks)
  • 1 Tablesp. sesame seeds
  • 3 Tablesps. Oriental sesame oil ( don't use the regular sesame oil as it has very different flavor; use Oriental sesame oil only)
  • 1 Tablesp. reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 teasp. sugar
  • Freshly-ground black pepper to taste
  • Hot red pepper flakes to taste

Directions
  1. 1) Cut the broccoli florets off the stalks. Peel the stalks & then cut on a slant into slices about 1/4" thick. Cut florets into bite-sized pieces. Wash broccoli & place on a steamer-rack, over a little gently-boiling water. Steam vegetables until tender-crisp ( about 5 to 7 minutes ). Cool broccoli immediately under cold running water.Drain broccoli well.Place in medium-size bowl.
  2. 2) In a heavy skillet over medium heat, toast the sesame seed until golden, shaking pan constantly to avoid burning seeds. Remove seeds from skillet & sprinkle over broccoli.
  3. 3) Combine remaining ingredients & mix very well with a wire whisk. Pour over broccoli; toss to mix well. Refrigerate until chilled.

Great recipe! TY

Sounds yummy!

Looks so good. I'd eat that chilled or hot. Maybe even over pasta. You got me thinking now :-)
