This side dish is somewhat similar to the traditional "green bean casserole" that is often made at thanksgiving. I like this better though.

Substitute chicken for the vegetables and this recipe would be the best.

I made this over the weekend and it is fabulous. Thanks for sharing. I'm with you, the green bean casserole is great but this is better. Yummy.

Thanks for the comment - I should mention that the sassy suggested alteration below and low (2/5) ranking is from my husband who shuns vegetables!
No fair! :-)

This reminds of a recipe I make, only I use half the amount of veggies and also add pimentos. It's one of my favorites. Shame on your hubby!

Nice twist on the green bean casserole. It's on my list to try.

This sounds great! I'll make it after my next grocery run.

Made it! Small story: I realized it was similar to one I had tried a month ago - but that one was so bland it wasn't even worth experimenting to kick it up. Yours is WAY better, no experimentation needed!

I have been to so many recipe sites - Allrecipes.com, Food Network, Betty Crocker, Velveeta.com, etc., etc. Wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for but knew I'd know it when I saw it. Having ham for Christmas and can't wait to try this recipe! Thank you!!!
