Orange Glazed Poppy Loaf

This is one of my favorite breads to give as gifts or just keep. It is so moist and rich. Often I make the mini-loaves. The orange glaze makes this!
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 2 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 Tbsp poppy seeds shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 1 1/8 cup oil shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp almond extract shopping list
- GLAZE: 1/4 cup orange juice shopping list
- 3/4 cup white sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 tsp almond flavoring shopping list
- 1/2 tsp butter flavoring shopping list
How to make it
- Mix the first 7 ingredients together for one to two minutes with an electric mixer.
- Pour in 2 lightly greased loaf pans or 1 bundt pan.
- Bake 1 hr. at 350 degrees or until toothpick comes out clean. Top will crack.
- GLAZE: Heat all the glaze ingredients until the sugar has dissolved.
- Let cake/loaves cool about 5 minutes.
- Brush or pour glaze over warm cake.
- This gets even better after it's been frozen; it gets really moist.
- For mini-loaves, bake about 45 minutes.
