Ingredients
- Delicious Creamy Cheese Grits
- These creamy grits are great for breakfast or even fish (and more) .
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- 1 cup cream or half n half
- 3 cups water
- 1/2 stick real butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (to taste)
- 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup quick grits (not instant)
- 1/2 Cup grated cheese of your choice (I just use cheddar)
Directions
- Bring cream, and water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
- Add cheese and stir well.
- Add butter, salt, and pepper.
- Slowly stir in grits and reduce heat. Cook 15 to 20 minutes over low heat, stirring OFTEN!
- Do NOT allow to stick to pan or scortch

I LOVE grits...and I'm not southern or country! I confess I fell in love with grits when my husband and I first discovered a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Alabama. I can't wait 'til this chain opens in California...it will be my downfall!
