Layered Peanut Butter Bars

A chewy peanut butter cookie bottom, creamy peanut butter filling, and chocolate frosting make this a winner for any peanut butter and chocolate fans! This is a great bar recipe to take to a party, although its supposed to serve 36 but I got about 28 good sized bars out of the recipe
Ingredients
- cookie Base shopping list
- 1 pouch betty crocker peanut butter cookie mix shopping list
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 tbsp water shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- Filling shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter shopping list
- 2 cups powdered sugar shopping list
- 2 tsp milk shopping list
- frosting shopping list
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 350 degrees and spray 9 X13 pan with cooking spray
- Stir cookie base ingredients in large bowl until dough-like
- Press dough into bottom of prepared pan
- Bake 15-18 minutes or until golden brown
- Let cool completely, approx 1 hour
- In small bowl, beat filling ingredients with mixer on medium until smooth
- Spread this mixture evenly over the cookie base
- Microwave frosting ingredients for 30 seconds and then stir until smooth
- Cool frosting mixture 10 minutes then spread evenly over cookie base and filling
- Refrigerate 30 minutes or until set
- Cut into bars as desired
