Creamy Peppercorn Strip Steaks

- 1/4 cup whole black peppercorns shopping list
- 4 boneless New York strip steaks with fat trimmed shopping list
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup beef broth shopping list
- 3/4 cup heavy cream shopping list
- 1 bunch watercress stems removed shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 200.
- Crush peppercorns a few at a time using mortar and pestle or bottom of heavy saucepan.
- Place steaks on crushed pepper and coat both sides.
- Cover bottom of skillet with thin layer of oil and heat over medium high heat.
- Add steaks and sauté 8 minutes per side then season with salt.
- Remove from pan and put on platter to keep warm in oven then discard oil from pan.
- Add beef broth and boil over high heat until reduced to about 2 tablespoons.
- Add cream and bring to boil over high heat stirring until cream is thick enough to coat spoon.
- Add salt then spoon sauce over steak.
