Fresh Strawberry Jam

- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced shopping list
- 1 1/2 pints fresh strawberries, hulled and halved shopping list
How to make it
- Combine sugar, juice and zest in small saucepan.
- Simmer over very low heat for 10 minutes, or until sugar is dissolved.
- Add strawberries and continue to simmer over very low heat for 20 minutes, until strawberries release juices and mixture boils slowly.
- Cook until a very small amount gels on a cold plate. (put a small plate in freezer during prep time, put small amount on plate, if it starts to get and not run, it's ready)
- Pour into 2 pint jars and seal or keep refrigerated.
- **Great on toast, ice cream or french toast!
