  • 2 eggs
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp shortening
  • 3 mashed bananas
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tsp water
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups flour

Directions
  1. Cream together
  2. 2 eggs
  3. pinch of salt
  4. 1 cup sugar
  5. 3 tbsp shortening
  6. Add remaining ingredients, and mix well.
  7. Pour batter into greased and floured cake pan
  8. bake 45 min to 1 hour in a slow oven--- 300 - 325*F

Cool! we have some bananas that are getting pretty ripe. Will make this for dessert after our beef stew tonight. thanks!

Very good, nice banana flavor and very easy to make. I added walnuts simply because bananas always go with walnuts in my baking world. ;) I baked it in a 9 x 13" pan and frosted with a buttercream frosting and sprinkled with additional walnuts. I added a picture.

I love your banana cake! Delicious and a 5 from me! Do you know what I found out? If you add a small espresso cup of espresso coffee to the dough it brings out the banana flavor in an unbelievable way! Try it when you get the chance!
