This is a speciality dish from Antakya, Turkey. Some of you may know the ancient name “Antioch” for that city. Definitely tasty and easy to make at home. Dont know where I found this recipe.

Ingredients
  • For Kebap:
  • • 1kg ground veal/beef, medium fat
  • • 2 tsp black pepper
  • • 1 tsp cumin
  • • 1 tsp dry mint
  • • 2 Tbs red pepper flakes (could be used less if you do not like hot)
  • • 3 bunches of parsley
  • Topping:
  • • 1 medium size tomato
  • • 2 anehaim pepper
  • • 2 Tbs tomato paste + 1/2 cup warm water

Directions
  1. Chop the parsley finely, mix with the rest of the ingredients well.
  2. Pat the mix to a flat claypot so that it is 3 - 4 mm thick.
  3. Arrange tomato and pepper slices on the mix.
  4. Thin the tomato paste with warm water and pour over.
  5. Bake for about an hour in 350 F oven.
  6. Serve with thin, kebap bread
