How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease a 9 X 13 baking pan.
  • Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and soda. Mix well.
  • Stir in butter until evenly mixed.
  • Remove two cups (lightly packed) and set aside.
  • Pat remaining mixture into pan. (Optional: mix two cups of chocolate chips into mixture before patting into pan – highly recommended.)
  • Combine raisins and marmalade.
  • Toss raisins with reserved oat mixture.
  • Sprinkle over the layer in the pan and pat down lightly.
  • Bake 35 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
  • While warm, cut into bars in the pan.
  • Cool completely in the refrigerator.
  • With a whisk, mix powdered sugar, cinnamon and milk to make a thin icing.
  • Remove from pan and put on wire cooling rack, spaced slightly apart. Place rack over waxed paper.
  • Drizzle with icing and let icing set.
  • Store in airtight container in the refrigerator.
