Hostess Twinkie Cake

Make a giant twinkie for your next party!
Ingredients
- 2 boxes of yellow cake mix shopping list
- OR shopping list
- Double batch yellow cake mix from scratch shopping list
- eggs, oil and water for two cake mixes shopping list
- butter or shortening to grease cake mold shopping list
- flour for dusting cake mold shopping list
- 1 can spray whipped cream shopping list
How to make it
- Create your cake mold (13 x 4.5 x 4) inches (see photo). Wrap cardboard mold inside and outside with THREE layers of heavy-duty aluminum foil to form the twinkie shape.
- Use any boxed yellow cake mix or yellow cake recipe from scratch.
- Pour the mixed batter into the heavily greased and flour-dusted mold.
- Bake according to directions on the box.
- When cooled, it should come easily out of the mold.
- You can invert everything onto a big plate.
- Let cake cool completely.
- Pick three spots on the bottom of the Twinkies cake to inject the whipping cream (you may have to probe a bit with the tip to enlarge the cavity where the filling goes).
- Don't overfill with the whipped cream.
- Turn it back over again so that the exposed baked top is on top.
- Serve and smile!
