How to make it

  • Grits:
  • Bring milk, water, garlic and salt to a boil in a medium saucepan. Whisk in grits, cover, reduce heat to simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, 20 minutes or until smooth and thickened.
  • Shrimp:
  • Meanwhile, heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Saute red and green peppers, the onion and garlic 5 minutes. Add shrimp and Old Bay and Cajun seasonings; cook 2 minutes. Add tomatoes; cook until shrimp are just cooked through, about 1 minute.
  • Remove grits from heat; stir in cheese. Serve shrimp and vegetables over grits.
