Ingredients

How to make it

  • Place the pared lemon zest, 8 fl oz (225 ml) water and the sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Boil for 2 minutes, then remove from the heat and leave to cool.
  • Strain the syrup into a bowl and finely chop the zest.
  • When cold, add the chopped zest, lemon juice and cream to the syrup.
  • Pour into an ice cream machine and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions.

    Okay, so I'm going to suggest alterations, but I want to give the good news first: This is the closest recipe I've ever found to TRUE Italian gelato. (I've been there recently and I'm picky) Absolutely wonderful, fantastic job. I will make again, with a few small additions.

    So that is how you do that. I always wondered. Can you put Rum or Vodka in it? No matter. Now I can make my own Gelato Al Limone Lemon Ice. This is great. *5*
