Italian Grostali Cookies

This is a special cookie from my collection that is cut out with Christmas cookie cutters and fried (instead of baked)
Ingredients
- 6 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. sugar shopping list
- Grated zest of 1 lemon shopping list
- Grated zest of 1 orange shopping list
- 8 eggs shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. heavy cream shopping list
- 2 shots rum shopping list
- oil, for deep frying shopping list
- powdered sugar, for dusting shopping list
How to make it
- In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients; knead good and hard on a floured surface. Roll out to 3/8" thick and cut out with Christmas cookie cutters (star, bell, stocking, etc.). Fry in deep oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels over paper grocery bags. Dust with powdered sugar.

This looks like a lovely cookie recipe. I have never tasted a cookie like this but I am certainly anxious to make them. Thank you for sharing your recipe and the heads up with the Wesson vegetable oil and cooking temperature. HIGH 5!
