Hoisin Beef and Scallion Appetizers

- 1 pound Certified Angus beef ® flank steak shopping list
- 1/2 cup soy sauce shopping list
- 1/2 cup oil shopping list
- 5 cloves garlic, crushed shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh ginger shopping list
- ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce shopping list
- 1 bunch scallions, cut into 2-inch julienne, white and pale green parts only shopping list
- scallions for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- Combine soy sauce, oil, garlic, ginger, and pepper in a zipper-locking bag. Marinate beef overnight.
- Pat meat dry and broil until rare, about 6 minutes per side.
- Let cool completely and slice across the grain into 1/4-inch thick strips.
- Brush each slice with hoisin sauce on each strip.
- Put a small bundle of julienne scallions at one end and roll up, place on tray seam side down, cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
