How to make it

  • Combine soy sauce, oil, garlic, ginger, and pepper in a zipper-locking bag. Marinate beef overnight.
  • Pat meat dry and broil until rare, about 6 minutes per side.
  • Let cool completely and slice across the grain into 1/4-inch thick strips.
  • Brush each slice with hoisin sauce on each strip.
  • Put a small bundle of julienne scallions at one end and roll up, place on tray seam side down, cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
