I exchanged 1/2c white flour for wheat flour (Therefore putting in for the flour:
1/2c. white flour + 1/2c. wheat flour.)

Ok,I tried them. They were very, very good...So very moist. They were more like a cake than a bar. Next time I'll probably make them in a 9x 13 pan. I did add a few extra ingredients...I hardly ever make a recipe exactly as it is written....Sorry! This recipe does seem very conducive to additions. (See "Alterations" below.)
