Dutch Meat Loaf Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce, divided
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar or molasses
  • hot cooked noodles
  • parsley

Directions
  1. Combine beef, breadcrumbs, onion, salt, pepper, and 1/2 cup tomato sauce; press into a 9- X 5- X 3-inch loafpan.
  2. Combine 1 cup tomato sauce, water, mustard, vinegar, and brown sugar; blend well.
  3. Pour half of sauce over loaf; bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  4. Unmold loaf and place on noodles. Heat remaining sauce, and spoon over meat loaf.
  5. Garnish with parsley.
  6. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
