These are delicious cookies - my mom (Ukrainian) used to make them, too - they are so rich and flavorful, I actually tried them also replacing walnuts (which is still my fave) with almonds, hazelnuts... High 5!

The reason why I gave you an low rating like I did.I remembered some one that I knew added tea to this. That's why I did what I did.

Hey kingofalla**holes: A tea cake is so named, not because it contains tea but because it is SERVED WITH TEA. Jackass.

My God... Who is this ignorant? I see what is happening! what a shame in such a nice site... 5 from me
Barbiemensher is right and you shouldn't get bothered by a cook with such a name. It says all!

Thank you for such a great post. I am putting these on my Must Try Soon, say Christmas list!!! I love these recipes that have a family history behind them. I have a recipe I want from my x-mother in law, her step son took after his real mother, LOL!! She calls them railroad cakes, they are tiny sweet cinnamon rolls?!? buns?!? not sure what to call them. Must get it from her!!! Thank you so much!
