An appetizer to please the mushroom lover. It takes a little more time to prepare but they are worth it. Serve them warm and they will be a hit at any gathering.

Ingredients
  • 4 slices of bacon (fried, drained & crumbled)
  • Large (8 oz) fresh white button mushrooms (cleaned, stems removed)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonaise
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (marble or mont. jack)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped sweet onion

Directions
  1. Gently remove stems from mushrooms and discard.
  2. Combine your cheese, mayo, onion and bacon.
  3. Stir thoroughly.
  4. Fill caps (mound them up)
  5. The recipe calls for a 10x6x2 pan but I've used all different sizes depending on how many mushrooms I was making.
  6. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.
  7. Serve warm.
  8. I have made about 15-20 mushrooms in one recipe (depends on the size of the mushroom).
