How to make it

  • Cook cranberries and apples in water until clear and tender.
  • Press through sieve and remove cranberry skins.
  • Should have 3 cups of pulp.
  • Add pineapple, lemon juice and sugar.
  • Mix and boil 6-8 minutes (until thick and clear).
  • Pour into sterilized jars and process or seal with parafin.

    I have made this for over 25 years! My children loved it and now my grandchildren love it as well. The recipe i have never called for processing, I just used very hot water for the jars, lids etc and have never had a problem. That could be because its consumed very quickly and has never sat on a shelf over a couple of months.

    I LOVE cranberries (as you can see by my page - lots of my recipes are for cranberry stuff). This sounds really tasty and I bet you can use it for savory dishes as well as sweet.

    I usually just seal with parafin in a sterile jar, so I'm not sure. It has a jelly consistency, so I think it might make it seperate and get too liquid.
