Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 packages fruit-flavored hard candy rings, any flavor - crushed

Directions
  1. Beat together butter, sugar, honey, eggs and vanilla with an electric mixer until creamy.
  2. Mix in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. Cover; refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  5. Line a baking sheet with foil; set aside.
  6. Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness.
  7. Cut dough into desired shapes with 2 1/2 to 3-inch floured cookie cutters.
  8. The trick:
  9. Trace a smaller version of cookie shape on dough leaving a 1/2-inch border of dough.
  10. Cut out and remove dough from center of cookies; set aside.
  11. Place cookies on foiled baking sheet.
  12. Repeat with reserved dough, re-rolling scraps as necessary.
  13. Crush each color of candy separately in a plastic sandwich bag, using a mallet.
  14. Spoon crushed candy inside centers of cookies, arranging different colors side-by-side.
  15. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until candy is melted and cookies are lightly browned.
  16. Cool cookies completely before removing from foil.
  17. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

Wow this looks great!!have to try it soon..Got my 5 :)

I'm not going to make these. I'm making my friend, Vicious, make them! Then I will get to eat and enjoy them, but not have to do the work. Of course, he'll probably cover my kitchen with flour, but it will be worth it.
