How to make it

  • Pre-heat oven to broil
  • In a bowl, whisk together lemon juice and anchovy paste
  • gradually whisk in the olive oil
  • mix in the tuna, celery, onion, basil, olives and capers
  • season with pepper
  • Lightly toast bread on both sides
  • Rub 1 side of each with the garlic
  • cover with the tuna salad and top with the cheese
  • Melt in the broiler
  • can also be made with Swiss or Provolone cheese
