Holiday Brownie Jewels

These brownies are great for Christmas or Thanksgiving and such a pretty site on an assorted cookie tray/plate.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces unsweetened chocolate shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups butter shopping list
- 6 large eggs shopping list
- 3 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tablespoon vanilla shopping list
- 1 cup chopped walnuts shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups halved red and green candied cherries, divided shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Melt chocolate and butter over hot water or in microwave on medium 4 minutes.
- Remove and stir well.
- Let cool.
- Beat the eggs until lemon colored.
- Gradually add sugar, beating until thick, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in chocolate.
- Fold in flour, vanilla, nuts, and 1 cup of the candied cherries.
- Pour into two greased and floured 8" square pans.
- Arrange remaining cherries on top.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Do not over bake as they should be very moist in the center.
- When cool, cut into 2" squares.
- Makes about 32
