Sweet Corn and Bacon Chowder

- 4 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 6 rashers bacon trimmed cooked and diced shopping list
- 1 white onion diced shopping list
- 1 clove garlic finely chopped shopping list
- 1 cup sliced celery shopping list
- 1 bay leaf shopping list
- 3 teaspoons finely chopped thyme shopping list
- 3 medium potatoes peeled and diced shopping list
- 3 cups chicken stock shopping list
- 1 can corn kernels and their liquid shopping list
- 1 can creamed corn shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoons alt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/2 cup sour cream shopping list
How to make it
- Melt butter in large saucepan over medium heat then add bacon and cook for two minutes.
- Add onion and garlic then cook stirring occasionally until softened about 6 minutes.
- Stir in celery, bay leaf and thyme then cook five minutes.
- Add potatoes and chicken stock then bring to the boil then reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
- Add corn and continue to cook until potatoes are tender about 20 minutes.
- Just prior to serving whisk in Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and sour cream.
- Serve immediately and garnish with thyme sprigs.
