Texas Brownies

- Bring To Boil: shopping list
- 2 sticks oleo (butter or margarine) shopping list
- 1 c. water shopping list
- 4 Tbsps. cocoa shopping list
- ADD: shopping list
- 2 c. flour shopping list
- 2 c. sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- Beat well with mixer. shopping list
- ADD: shopping list
- 1/2 c. sour cream or mayonnaise shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking soda shopping list
- 1 or 1/2 c. chopped walnuts shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Mix well with spoon and pour into greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 350 for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cover brownies with icing while the cake is still hot.

- Bring to boil:
- 1 stick oleo (butter or margarine)
- 4 Tbsps. cocoa
- 6 Tbsps. milk
- Remove from heat and add:
- 1 lb. powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts

- This is indeed a great recipe, I've used it for years.I've seen it called Texas Sheet cake, Sheath Cake, all kinds of names. Some of the ingredients vary slightly, like 1/2 c. buttermilk instead of the sour cream, or mayo. Some have cinnamon added. Although a cookie sheet is recommended, I've always used a 9 x 13 cake pan with wonderful results! The best recipe I've ever used for a chocolate on chocolate cake or bar! Again, thanks for posting!
