Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (lean or better, not regular)
  • 1 pound package mild pork sausage
  • 2 1/2 cups cracker crumbs (crumbled saltine crackers)
  • 2 large sweet onions, chopped
  • 3-4 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 3/4 cup catsup
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 - 16 ounce cans tomato sauce
  • 6 ounce can tomato paste

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine ground beef, sausage, cracker crumbs, onions, and celery.
  3. Add egg, milk, catsup, garlic powder, salt and pepper, and mix together well.
  4. Press loosely into a 3 to 4 quart baking dish.
  5. Bake 1 hour in a preheated 350 degree oven.
  6. Mix together tomato sauce and tomato paste and spread evenly over top of meat loaf.
  7. Bake 15 minutes more.
  8. Serve hot.
  9. Leftovers are great hot or cold!
