Oven poached quinces kidonia sto fourno Greek

- 5 large quinces ca 1 1/2 kg. shopping list
- 2 1/2 c sugar. shopping list
- 3 1/2 c water. shopping list
- 3 tbs honey. shopping list
- 1 pcs of cinamon (5 cm). shopping list
- 10 whole cloves. shopping list
- 3 ts ground cinamon. shopping list
- 3 ts sugar. shopping list
- tbs lemon juice. shopping list
How to make it
- Scrub quinces clean with a hard brush, cut in 4 pieces and scoop out core and seeds .
- Cook water, sugar and core + seeds till sugar is dissolved, ca 10 min, let cool, drain and keep the syrup.
- Pin 2 cloves in each piece of quince, put in an oven tray, add syrup, honey, ciunamon stick and lemon juice.
- Sprinkle each piece with sugar and ground cinamon and bake in the preheated oven at 180 C for 2 hours.
- Cool syrup , serve each piece with 1 tbs syrup, 1 tbs Greek yoghurt or whiping cream.
