Scotch Chocolate Cake

- 2 c. sifted flour shopping list
- 2 c. sugar shopping list
- 1 stick butter shopping list
- 1/2 c. Crisco oil shopping list
- 4 heaping Tbsps. cocoa shopping list
- 1 c. water shopping list
- 1/2 c. buttermilk shopping list
- 1 tsp. soda shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 1 tsp. cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- Grease and flour cake pan.
- Preheat oven 400 degrees.
- Combine flour, sugar in mixing bowl, mix well.
- In sauce pan, combine butter, oil, cocoa, water, bring to boil, then pour over the flour and sugar mixing gradually.
- Stir soda into buttermilk and add to cake mixture along with remaining ingredients, mix well.
- Bake 30-40 minutes for oblong pan or about 20 minutes for two cake pans.

- Frosting for Scotch Chocolate Cake:
- 1 stick butter
- 4 Tbsps. cocoa
- 1/3 c. plus 1 tsp. milk
- 1 lb. powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- In sauce pan combine butter, cocoa, milk.
- Bring to boil, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients.
- Spread on cake after it cools.
