Ginger Venison Recipe

Ginger Venison Recipe
Very good over rice and served with brocolli or green beans. This makes a nice change when we have a lot of deer in the deepfreeze.

Ingredients
  • 1 onion, sliced thinly
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 4 slices ginger root, chopped ( my slices are the size of a nickle) - use more or less depending on taste
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 lb venison steak, sliced thinly
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch - you can add more or less depending on how thick you want the gravy

Directions
  1. Brown onion, garlic and ginger in hot oil. Watch that the garlic doesn't burn! Add venison and fry until brown.
  2. Mix brown sugar, 1/4 cup soy sauce, water and salt. Pour over meat and simmer until tender. When tender, mix cornstarch with some water and add to broth to thicken.
