Ingredients

1c+1tbsp White Sugar

1 tsp Baking Powder

1/2 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp Baking Soda

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

1/4 tsp Nutmeg

1/2 c Applesauce

2 tbsp Milk

1 tsp Vanilla Extract

2-3 tbsp Maple Syrup

1 Egg

2 c Whole Wheat Flour

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In large bowl, combine first six ingredients (set aside the 1 tbsp of sugar) and blend well so that the baking soda and powder are mixed in and there are no little chunks of them, then add the next 5 ingredients and mix well.

Stir in whole wheat flour.

Spoon onto ungreased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.

This is optional but I like to use that leftover sugar to sprinkle on top the cookies before you bake them.

Just so they don't spread out to much during baking, I like to put the cookie sheet with spooned cookie dough in the refrigerator for about five minutes then bake.

Bake in pre-heated oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown.
