AUTHENTIC CHEESE PEANUT SALAD DATED 1934 This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Viler Estate in Georgetown, Texas in 1991.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup chopped salted peanuts
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1-1/2 cups chopped cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup thousand island dressing

Directions
  1. Combine crumbs, peanuts, cheese and vegetables then season with salt.
  2. Add dressing and serve immediately.
