This might be a double post but this is awesome! I added a lil powdered sugar, brown sugar, a tad, tsp vanilla and pecans instead of walnuts. This recipe is great bc you can add pretty much anything in to spice it up and it tastes great!! Wonderful recipe. I hurried, so mine look like pancakes; could also be bc of the cream cheese , but they taste great and I'll be more careful next time! A++

I just made these because I was looking for a quick and easy cookie and I didn't have too many ingredients! Well, these were perfect for that! These are soooo good! I couldn't stop eating them! I was even eating the cookie dough before it was baked...also soooo good! The only thing I did different was to use 1/4 cup of butter instead of 1/2 cup. I think next time I'll even use 1/2 the sugar also! I used walnuts instead of pecans. I also added 1/2 tsp. of pure vanilla extract and I baked them for an extra 3 minutes. When these came out of the oven they were extremely soft, but as soon as they cooled they firmed up to a nice chewy cookie! As you can see from my pictures they don't spread very much so you can place them close together. They are so cute and bite sized (1 1/2" diameter)... and this made about 40 cookies! This recipe is so easy, even little kids can make them all by themselves...except for the oven part of course! I'll be making these very often!

I was a little surprised at the way these cookies turned out. Are they suppose to be flat and kind of resemble potato chips??? I mixed some powdered sugar and baking cocoa together and covered the cookie in this ....YUMMMMM

It is now 25 minutes later. I added more flour to the dough and they now look like cookies... :O) still taste great with the powdered coating.

One more update! - My mother and sister were headed out of town this weekend and last minute said they needed a cookie for a contest. This was the first thing that popped in my head. I whipped up a batch and sent them on their way. Please see the ribbon picture as this recipe won first place!!

Update - This recipe has become a staple in my house! Family dinners, BBQs, "food days" at work. This is my "go to" recipe and they ALWAYS disappear! I made them for my mom's office and had 3 people request the recipe and at their next food day, someone had made them!
Can't thank you enough for sharing this absolutely amazing recipe! :)

I am so excited to see this recipe.
When I was a kid, we would go shopping in Lancaster county in PA. On those trips we would do some grocery shopping at a certain store that would have cream cheese cookies for sale - they were to DIE for (note: they used walnuts instead of pecans but the pecans sound great too!)
I have been looking for a recipe that is similar to those cookies. Yours seems nice and basic, as those cookies were, and I can't wait to try it! Thanks so much for adding it!

i omitted the pecans so i think that was a bad thing to do because they were like mush and i really did not like them. I am really looking for a soft sugar cookie that i can frost that is not a cut out just a round cookie any ideas.

I made these cookies yesterday and let me tell you there aren't any left. I did substitute 1/2 cup sugar with Splenda and they still came out great.I agree with you, cream cheese anything is good.
