Spicy Smoky Anise Martini Cocktail

H. Joseph Ehrmann of Elixir was author of this out-of-the ordinary drink which was placed in the bartender competition. Reported in CHOW and the voting is still going on. A spicy and smoky drink that would work well at a fall or winter get-together:
Ingredients
- 1/2 ounce Marie Brizard Anisette shopping list
- 2 ounces Sobieski vodka shopping list
- 1/8 ounce Laphroaig 10 Year Old Single Malt Whisky shopping list
How to make it
- In a mixing glass, combine all ingredients and fill with ice.
- Stir well for 15 seconds and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a floating star anise.
