Fennel Braised With Garlic

- 12 small fennel bulbs shopping list
- 6 tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- 3 garlic cloves shopping list
- 3/4 cup vegetable broth shopping list
How to make it
- Trim fennel stalks flush with bulbs and trim any discolorations from bulbs.
- Cut bulbs lengthwise in half or into quarters then cut out most of the cores.
- Leave enough to keep pieces intact and discard cores.
- In a heavy skillet warm oil over moderate heat and cook garlic until pale golden.
- Discard garlic and cook fennel stirring occasionally until golden brown about 10 minutes.
- Add broth and salt to taste then simmer partially covered stirring occasionally for 20 minutes.
- Allow to sit 5 minutes then serve immediately.
