This is an original recipe from 1888 i thought it would be fun............ original cowboy cookbook from the 1840's

Ingredients
  • 2- onions cooked with the tomatoes
  • 3- teaspoon mixed pickling spices (put in a bag while cooking if you dont like it too spicy remove the red peppers in it )if you want spicy ketchup add more peppers
  • 3--cups sugar
  • 22-24- cup tomato juice
  • 3-cup vinegar
  • 2- tablespoon canning salt

Directions
  1. Cook all of it until its thick..........wow that was too easy!!!!
  2. rest now it was too much .....hahaha....
  3. you know its done when it gets so hot it splatters all over your stove then you get mad and yell and cuss ...as youre trying to clean it up and ithen it splatters more hahahaha
  4. so then you put in jars quickly to keep it from splattering all over you...ouch its hot!!!!!!!!!
  5. makes 3 coffee jars remember them ????hahahaha
