Ingredients

How to make it

  • Wash grapes well under running water in a colander & let drain well.
  • Cut grapes into clusters of 3 grapes with kitchen shears.
  • Place on layers of kitchen towels & sit at room temperature to dry completely. - You don't want to get any water in the chocolate.
  • Place chocolate on a cutting board & coursely chop into small uniform pieces with a knife.
  • To melt chocolate, fill bottom of double boiler with water to 1 inch below the level of the top pan.
  • Bring water just to the boil & then reduce to low.
  • Place chocolate in the top pan.
  • To prevent steam from getting on chocolate, cover before placing over hot, not boiling water.
  • Uncover & stir until the chocolate is melted.
  • Place cashews in a shallow bowl.
  • Working with one cluster of grapes at a time, holding the stem, dip grapes into the melted chocolate, leaving part of the grape uncoated.
  • Allow excess to drip off back into the pan.
  • Roll grapes gently in the cashews & place stem side up on wax paper.
  • Repeat with remaining clusters.
  • Refrigerate until chocolate is firm.
  • Serve with in 4 hours

You would have to be careful which other fruits you used. If you get any moisture(juice) in the chocolate, it ruins the chocolate. The grapes have a skin on them to prevent that. Also helps the chocolate to cling & stay. You could probably use strawberries.

This is so cool!!! I bet you could do that with other fruits, too. Saving this one and flagging as beautiful!
