LEAVE IT TO PAULA DEAN - SHE COMES UP WITH SOME WINNERS - THANKS FOR POSTING - LEEBEAR

This is VERY good. I halved the recipe and put it in an 8 x 8 pan. 8 slices of commercial white bread with the crusts scissored off fit perfectly as two layers of four. That gave me the one inch thickness you mentioned. The topping turned out to be a nut ball with caramel coating holding it together. I had to spoon it on and spread it. Don't get me wrong, the solid layer of nuts was very good. A wonderful praline flavor. Thanks again.
