Asparagus with Balsamic Drizzle and Cream Cheese

- 1-1/2 pounds medium size asparagus ends snapped and stems peeled shopping list
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar shopping list
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce shopping list
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic minced fine shopping list
- 1 green onion sliced fine shopping list
- 1 small baguette sliced into 1-1/2” slices shopping list
- 8 ounces softened cream cheese shopping list
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives shopping list
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh tarragon shopping list
- 6 radishes washed and sliced thinly shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
How to make it
- In steamer basket over boiling water steam asparagus 5 minutes.
- Rinse immediately under cold water then set aside until ready to use.
- For sauce combine vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar and garlic in a small saucepan.
- Add 2 tablespoons water then cook over medium heat until reduced by half.
- Add green onion then adjust seasoning if necessary.
- In small bowl combine cream cheese, chives and tarragon.
- In toaster oven or under a broiler toast one side of each of the baguette slices.
- Spread each with a small amount of the cream cheese mixture.
- Season with salt and freshly ground pepper and top with radish slices.
- On large platter arrange asparagus then drizzle with vinaigrette.
- Arrange baguette slices with cheese near the asparagus.
