AMISH CASSEROLE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Ludwig Estate in Temple Texas in 1984.

Ingredients
  • 3 pounds ground round
  • 1 large white onion
  • 1 large package egg noodles cooked
  • 1 package frozen peas cooked
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 1 cup milk

Directions
  1. Brown beef and onion together until meat is no longer pink.
  2. Drain well then combine all ingredients and place in large baking dish.
  3. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Love everything Amish! This casserole sounds creamy and full of goodness!


Came back to tell you that I made this the other night. Came out nice and creamy. Good subtle flavours here. Reminded me a lot of Beef Stroganoff in its taste. I would just recommend covering the casserole with foil after the first 10 minutes of baking. That will help keep noodles from drying out. Added a picture, hope that's OK.
