Beef and Peppers

- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt, if desired shopping list
- 1 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- 2 pounds beef sirloin, cut into 1/2" wide strips shopping list
- 1/4 cup shortening shopping list
- 14 ounce can tomatoes shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups water shopping list
- 2 beef bouillon cubes shopping list
- 1 tablespoon steak sauce shopping list
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped shopping list
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce OR hot pepper sauce. shopping list
- 1 cup green bell pepper strips shopping list
- 1 cup red bell pepper strips shopping list
- broccoli, chunked, if desired shopping list
- mushrooms, if desired shopping list
- Hot cooked noodles (your choice) OR rice shopping list
How to make it
- Combine flour, salt ( if desired) and pepper in small bowl.
- Coat meat strips with flour mixture.
- Brown the meat in shortening in a large skillet.
- Add juice from canned tomatoes, 1 1/2 cups water, bouillon cubes and steak sauce.
- Stir in onion.
- Heat to boiling.
- Reduce heat to simmer, covered, 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until meat is tender.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli and mushrooms.
- Heat until vegetables are cooked to desired doneness.
- Thicken gravy with a little flour, if necessary.
- Serve hot over hot noodles or rice.
