Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter
  • ¾ cup cocoa (if you can find Hershey’s European processed cocoa, buy it!)
  • 2¼ cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1¼ cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

Directions
  1. Melt butter in medium saucepan; stir in cocoa until smooth.
  2. Remove pan from heat; add sugar, vanilla, salt and eggs – beat well.
  3. Add flour and baking powder; mix together well.
  4. Spread into greased 9x13 baking dish.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  6. These do not need frosting – just sprinkle top of brownies with powdered sugar.
  7. Cool and cut into bars. Very fudgey!
  8. NOTE: for the Engagement Party, we cut the brownies with a heart shaped cookie cutter, after dusting them with powdered sugar - very cute presentation (Erin's idea - I must give her credit!).
