This recipe uses no oil and bakes up two crusty french bread loaves. Good for french onion soup, or a sandwich, or whatever you like.

I love this recipe, so simple and looks fabulous!
What programe do you use on the bread machine? The dough programe (the one that takes 1h30)?
Great post! *5*

Ana, I have a Breadmaster breadmachine. Their dough cycle is setting 10. I think it comes up at about 3'45", if I'm not mistaken.
Lorraine, this recipe will also work with simple hand kneading. I used to make it that way. The breadmachine is just so much easier. If you do knead the dough, make sure you run it through two risings, punching it down each time. I like to let the dough rise on the top of a warm stove, covered with a cotten dish towel. IKEA towels work great.
