Bolognese Sauce

- olive oil to saute meats. shopping list
- 1 pound sausage, uncased shopping list
- 1 pound lean ground beef shopping list
- 1 (26 ounce) can tomato puree shopping list
- 1 1/2 tablespoons dried basil shopping list
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley shopping list
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano shopping list
- Bay leaf shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Heat olive oil in Dutch Oven until hot.
- Add sausage meat to pot and cook, stirring and breaking up as you go.
- When sausage is about halfway cooked, add the ground beef to the pot.
- Cook and stir the two meats together until they are cooked through.
- Add tomato puree to Dutch oven.
- Stir into the meats well.
- Add the bay leaf.
- Add the basil, oregano and parsley to the pot.
- Mix well.
- Add salt to taste.
- Allow to simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
