How to make it

  • Whisk all marinade ingredients together in a large bowl.
  • Score surface of the ham into diamond shapes about 1 inch square by 1/2 inch deep. Score both sides.
  • Place the ham in a glass baking dish and pour marinade over it. Let the ham stand at room temp for an hour, turning and basting it frequently.
  • Pre-heat the oven to 325 degrees.
  • Place the ham on a rack in a roasting pan. Pour marinade over it. Tent the ham with aluminum foil.
  • Bake for 15 minutes per pound. (cooking time was based on a 12 lb ham) Baste with marinade about every 20 minutes. Remove the foil during the last 45 minutes of cooking to brown.
  • Remove to a large platter, carve and serve warm.
