How to make it

  • In a small pan over low heat, stir together the melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Pour into a 9X13 sprayed baking Dish.
  • Sprinkle with chopped walnuts or pecans over the butter mixture.
  • Arrange bread slices in a single layer on top of the nuts. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the eggs and milk.
  • Pour egg mixture over the bread in the baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the remaining pecans or walnuts over the top of bread slices. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 2-24 hours.
  • Remove cover from Baking Dish.
  • Bake in a 350 degrees oven for 30-35 minutes or until the center appears set and the top is lightly browned.
  • Let stand for about 10 minutes before serving.
  • Serve with Real Maple Syrup

    I was looking for a way to use up some french bread; so I thought I;d try this as Frenchtoast is my favorite breakfast food! EEEWWW-yuck gross! I either did something grossly wrong or this is just disguisting. There was WAY too much butter and it was still soggy even though I cooked it almost an extra 30min. Go for good old fashioned single slices.
