Baked French Toast

- 1/3 cup butter, melted shopping list
- 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts shopping list
- 8-10 1-inch thick slices French bread shopping list
- 4 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 1 3/4 cups milk shopping list
How to make it
- In a small pan over low heat, stir together the melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Pour into a 9X13 sprayed baking Dish.
- Sprinkle with chopped walnuts or pecans over the butter mixture.
- Arrange bread slices in a single layer on top of the nuts. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the eggs and milk.
- Pour egg mixture over the bread in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining pecans or walnuts over the top of bread slices. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 2-24 hours.
- Remove cover from Baking Dish.
- Bake in a 350 degrees oven for 30-35 minutes or until the center appears set and the top is lightly browned.
- Let stand for about 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve with Real Maple Syrup
