- 1 1/2 cup of water shopping list
- 1 teaspoon of salt shopping list
- 1 cup of yellow corn meal shopping list
- 3 Tablespoons of butter shopping list
- 2 eggs separated shopping list
- 1 cup of milk shopping list

- 1/2 stick of butter shopping list

- 425 degrees for 20 minutes. shopping list
- I've done both ways depending on the number of people I'm serving. shopping list
How to make it
- Boil water and salt
- Stir in cornmeal and butter.
- Cook until thickened.
- Add beaten egg yolks.
- Stir in milk gradually.
- Beat egg whites until stiff.
- Fold into cornmeal mixture.
- Pour into greased two quart baking dish.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
- Serve at once with extra butter.
- Mom always used a pat of butter to "gild the lily" by rubbing it very lightly over the hot bread.
