How to make it

  • Mix all the dry ingredients.
  • Add chopped onion, jalapeno and tomato bits.
  • Then add the milk and beaten egg.
  • Drop by spoonful into deep hot oil (375).
  • Turn over and allow to cook until lightly brown.
  • Drain on plain brown paper bags.
  • Serve at once.

    I've never even tasted a hush puppy, but the recipe sounds delicious. I'm only hesitant about the deep frying. Are they ever cooked any other way? Thanks.
