Ingredients
  • Corned beef
  • Water
  • 1 medium onion, halved
  • 2 large bay leaves
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon pickling spices
  • 1 garlic bud (clove)

Directions
  1. Put corned beef in a large pan and cover with cold water.
  2. Boil slowly for 1 hour.
  3. Add onion, bay leaves, cloves, pickling spices and garlic.
  4. Simmer for 2 hours (do not boil).
  5. Take off heat and let stand in own juice to cool.
  6. Completely cool.
  7. Drain.
  8. Refrigerate.
  9. Slice on bias, very thin for sandwiches.
