How to make it

  • Put corned beef in a large pan and cover with cold water.
  • Boil slowly for 1 hour.
  • Add onion, bay leaves, cloves, pickling spices and garlic.
  • Simmer for 2 hours (do not boil).
  • Take off heat and let stand in own juice to cool.
  • Completely cool.
  • Drain.
  • Refrigerate.
  • Slice on bias, very thin for sandwiches.
