Hilton Head Casserole

- 8 ozs small pasta shells shopping list
- 2 lbs ground beef shopping list
- 2 medium onions, chopped shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic, minced shopping list
- 1 pound chopped stewed tomatoes shopping list
- 1 14 oz can tomato sauce shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
- 1, 4 oz can sliced mushrooms, undrained shopping list
- 12 ozs sour cream shopping list
- 1/2 lb provolone cheese, sliced shopping list
- 8 ozs shredded mozzarella shopping list
- 1/2 cup parmesan shopping list
How to make it
- cook pasta shells, rinse and drain
- brown beef, add onion and cook until soft
- add garlic, tomatoes, tomato sauce, mushrooms, salt and pepper. simmer 20 minutes.
- in a 3 qt. casserole, put enough sauce to cover bottom
- add layer of 2 cups pasta, then 1/2 remaining sauce, 1/2 sour cream and 1/4 cup provolone
- repeat layers
- sprinkle with mozzarella, cover and bake for 40 mins.
- remove cover and continue baking until mozzarella melts.
- remove from oven, sprinkle with parmesan and let stand for 10 mins.
