Ingredients
  • 8 ozs small pasta shells
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound chopped stewed tomatoes
  • 1 14 oz can tomato sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1, 4 oz can sliced mushrooms, undrained
  • 12 ozs sour cream
  • 1/2 lb provolone cheese, sliced
  • 8 ozs shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup parmesan

Directions
  1. cook pasta shells, rinse and drain
  2. brown beef, add onion and cook until soft
  3. add garlic, tomatoes, tomato sauce, mushrooms, salt and pepper. simmer 20 minutes.
  4. in a 3 qt. casserole, put enough sauce to cover bottom
  5. add layer of 2 cups pasta, then 1/2 remaining sauce, 1/2 sour cream and 1/4 cup provolone
  6. repeat layers
  7. sprinkle with mozzarella, cover and bake for 40 mins.
  8. remove cover and continue baking until mozzarella melts.
  9. remove from oven, sprinkle with parmesan and let stand for 10 mins.
